Ten Years Ago

Ten years ago, on a beautiful August day, we stood together in front of family and friends. We said our vows and pledged to be together forever. We laughed. We cried. We danced. We kissed. We rode in a Rolls (Grey Poupon and all!). We felt like royalty.

Hard to believe ten years has passed. So many memories were made that day and continue to be made everyday. We've had our share of ups and downs, but we've stayed strong, knowing we have each other. We have two beautiful girls, who remind us everyday that life is worth living, and to never take anything for granted. There will be more ups and downs, good times and bad, but we know we can make it. We have our love, faith, and trust in one another. We know that we will have many more wonderful memories to last us a lifetime.

Happy Anniversary, sweetheart!

Now you will feel no rain,
For each of you will be shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you will be warmth to the other.
Now there is no more loneliness,
For each of you will be companion to the other.
Now you are two bodies,
But there is one life before you.
Go now to your dwelling place,
To enter into the days of your togetherness.
And may your days be good and long upon the earth.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Bill and Kristi!

On that special day, our family's bond was strengthened in the joining of a loving "sis" in marriage to my fantastic brother, Bill. Two months prior, Bill and I were also fortunate to have another "sister" in marriage to our awesome baby brother, Sean. On this particular day, we did not know what was in store for us in the future with the arrival of two babies in one year! More blessings enfolded over the next few years with arrival of nieces and nephews. Our Smith family has grown to 14 people, a German Shepard, and a Cockatiel with distinct personalities and unbelievable talents.

As a big sister to two younger brothers, I feel enormously thankful for their loving wives who unselfishly nurture the bonds of their immediate and extended family with generous spirit, compassion, humor, perseverance, and love.
Your children's successes are a direct reflection of your commitment as wonderful parents. Thank you for all you do, Kristi in being a wonderful wife, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and "sis"!

Thank you, Bill for being a fabulous brother in taking care of your family in many ways more than we can count. Our family's existing bonds would not be possible without your generosity in empowering us to preserve our connection with each other via technology. This is not something I take lightly despite the fact that I am typically the one who needs to "catch up" to you and Kristi. :)

Most of all.. thank you, Bill and Kristi for all of your round trips to Ohio for family gatherings over the years. In our hearts, we do appreciate your gift by including your precious girls in Smith family events.
It is not an easy feat to travel even though you both have become "pros" at it and shrug it off as "no big deal". It means the world to us. We all have different ways of expressing our gratitude. Here's mine in a public forum! :)

So, this comment is our way of honoring both of your accomplishment in celebrating your 10 years of marriage! Congratulations, Bill and Kristi!

Love you both,
Tim and Steph
